LaurelWood Care Center is a 120-bed Skilled Nursing Center which includes a 20-bed Specialty Care Program offering Cardiac, Orthopedic, and Wound Care Program .

LaurelWood sits in a wooded, hilltop community in southern Cambria County. Beautifully landscaped, the grounds include a patio, walking paths, gardens, and shaded lawns that let you enjoy watching deer and other wildlife. Conveniently located off Route 271 (Menoher Blvd.), the Center is quickly accessible from virtually anywhere in Johnstown, so that friends and family can easily visit.

LaurelWood Care Center also features:

  • A Restorative Program, which offers retraining in daily activities such as ambulation and social dining
  • An Activities Program, which works to bring each resident to his or her highest level of function
  • A Social Services Program, which serves the resident as well as family and friends

Each resident has an attending physician of his or her choice. A broad range of specialists, including podiatrists, dentists, optometrists, audiologists, psychiatrists, and psychologists, is available to provide other treatment as needed. Other staff includes:

  • Registered Nurses
  • Licensed Practical Nurses
  • Certified Nursing Assistants
  • Rehabilitation Therapists (providing PT, OT and SLT)
  • Registered Dietitian and Consulting Registered Dietitian
  • Housekeeping, Laundry, and Maintenance Staff
  • Administrative Staff (Admissions, Social Services, Case Management, Business Office, and Administration Departments)
  • Recreational Therapists and Activities Staff

On the same grounds as LaurelWood is Amber Springs, a licensed Assisted Living Center, which includes 100 suites.
